A Little Outdoor Fun

The weather was sunny and the humidity was low on Tuesday, April 24 for our eighth DeuceDay of the year in Jackson, MS. Eight kids from the Think Together Tutoring Center at Hunter Oaks Apartments spent an afternoon of fun at the Promised Land Park on North State Street. Promised Land features an 18 hole goofy golf course, batting cages, Go-Kart race track, indoor arcade, and a driving range.

After picking out putters and golf balls, the kids split up into three teams to play goofy golf. It was declared that whoever hit a hole-in-one on any hole on the course, that person would get a soda or slushie. These kids were better golfers than expected, because at the end of the day, each person was sipping on a slushie!

After mastering the goofy golf course, we moved on to the Go-Kart track. As half of the group looked on, the other half drove the ¼ mile track as fast as they could! One female student declared after getting off of the Go-Kart, "That's the most fun I've EVER had!" After three rounds on the Go-Kart track and a brief rest, it was time to say goodbye.
